World famous hospitality school Le Cordon Bleu will introduce their professional culinary management program in Adelaide from January next year.
Le Cordon Bleu International operates an Asia-Pacific base from facilities in Regency Park and has offered bachelor and masters degrees in hotel and restaurant management from Adelaide since 2001.
From January 2012 Le Cordon Bleu will also offer their renowned culinary management program from the Adelaide base for the very first time. Upon completion students will receive an Advanced Diploma of Hospitality (Australian qualification) as well as the internationally recognised Le Cordon Bleu Diplôme Avancé de Gestion Culinaire.
"Adelaide is a very important hub for Le Cordon Bleu global operations. The quality of management education expertise based in Adelaide has been paramount to the success of our Bachelors and Masters degree programs here" says Le Cordon Bleu Education Manager, Mr Brian Rungie.
"This expertise has now been exported to Le Cordon Bleu schools in London, Peru and Madrid among others. It was a logical step for us to combine what we have been achieving here in Adelaide in Higher Education with our international renown as a leader in the delivery of culinary arts training to create a comprehensive one-stop program for chefs."
"Chefs wanting to succeed internationally in today's professional kitchens need to support their passion for food and culinary mastery with solid management skills. The quality of the food is only one aspect of operating a successful food operation. Restaurants and food business operations fail every day because of neglected management issues" he says.
"Our students will be job ready, internationally focused and realistic about the requirements of running a successful kitchen" says Mr Rungie.
This Adelaide-based 24 month/ 2 year intensive program consists six months practical training in French techniques, a six month work placement in a hospitality business and 12 months of study in culinary management fundamentals. Applications are now open for commencement in January 2012.
Students are encouraged to contact Le Cordon Bleu for further information.
